In late 92 or early 93, I found a DW-5700 outside a grocery store in San Diego, CA. Over the years, I would break the band at work or start tearing up the rubber(?)/plastic(?) on it so finally I used it as a pocket watch(useful as a timer for lunch breaks).
Jan. 2010 and it sits on my bookcase. STILL WORKING AND HAVE NEVER PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT.
QUESTION IS: What IS the average battery life on a DW-5700?

Some of those watch batteries are still running from the 80's you should get a new band and bezel for it.. That thing would look brand new and probably will run for a long time. That thing is a classic...

Yep, G-Shock batteries can last over 20 years in some cases. The alarm and backlight is what drains most of the power, so they last longer if you don't use them much.

The only way it could ever look brand new is if it is possible to replace the black plastic housing(?) Then it would look pretty good.

The original round resin bezel parts are hard to find for the DW-5700. But you can use the square shaped bezel meant for the the DW-5600C.

You can get the black housing at casiosalesandservice.com you can call them 877.659.0761. They have all kinds of parts.

Thanks y'all!!!
I saw two possibilities.
(1)DW5600C Case Cover/Bezel, Casio for 20.50
or
(2)DW5600C Case Cover/Bezel Black for 20.00
The "fine print" on no.1 says New original Casio replacement part
and no. 2 says Original Casio replacement part
What is the difference???? No. 2 is used????
Going to go back to the site and see if they take checks/money orders.
